Research interests: AIA studies communication and its disorders in aging: normal and pathological processes underlying communication in the life trajectory (bilingualism, neurodegenerative disease, stroke) and personalized therapeutic interventions, aiming at communication and well-being between the affected person and his/her caregivers. The theoretical framework is at the interface between neuroscience, cognitive neuropsychology, experimental psychology and psycholinguistics. The methodology includes behavioral approaches, BOLD FMRI, functional connectivity, or all three. AIA supervises students in health sciences, biomedical engineering, biomedical sciences, neuropsychology. Its network of collaborations includes academics in health sciences, arts and sciences, data sciences, community groups, policy makers. AIA is committed to knowledge mobilization with the scientific, academic and public communities.
